backspacing help
im in the market for new wheels/tires soon and im just trying to figure out backspacing.. ive searched and managed to learn a little bit... but im still a little unsure before i purchase!!
anyways ive been looking at these wheels.. 15x8 Ion Alloy 174black and they have 3.5" backspacing... i'll either be going with a 32x11.5 or a 33x12.5.. would this setup be in proper proportion??

I just read something on this sometime last night give me a few im searching for it lol.

The Ford Ranger, Bronco II and Explorer all have a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.
The basic Ranger wheel diameter is either 14x6 or 15x7 inches.
Stock Backspacing is usually 4.5 inches.
Recommended backspacing on a 15x7 wheel is 3.75 inches with -6mm offset.*
Recommended backspacing on a 15x8 wheel is 3.75 inches with -19mm offset.*
Recommended backspacing on a 15x10 wheel is 4.00 inches with -38mm offset.*
(* = Information provided by American Racing)
Wheels on a 1998+ 4x4 Ranger will not fit the front of a 1983-1997 4x4 Ranger. The center hole is too small for the locking hub to pass through. You would have to have the hub center cut out by a machine shop to fit over the hub.

thanks for that info josh.. nice to know the proper recommendations... seems to me i recall quite a few guys on here with 15x8 and 3.75" backspacing...
so if i were to run a wheel with 3.5" backspacing.. would that .25" difference push the wheel in or out?
