i basically have a stock size wheel but cragar rock crawlers 15inches diameter, 7.5 inches width, 5X4.5 bolt pattern , and a 4.5inch backspace. they dont stick out like i want them to. my firend said if i get a smaller back space then the tires will look wider and stick out more.. is this true? i neeed help!

 

yeap the lower the number the farther they stick out

 

so what size is your rims? 15X8 with what back space? and do you have an offset?

 

I have 15x8 Daytonas with 3.75 backspace and they stick out just enough for me.

 

ok because im selling my 15X7.5 rock crawlers. because i want to get a set of rims that stick out more. but cragar doesnt make a 15X8 5X4.5 bp with a 3.75 backspace. i just want a cheap black steel wheel that 15X8 with 5X4.5 bp with a 3.75 bs

cragar v-5s i have a set on my truck there not soft 8's but they are 15x8 5x4.5 with a 3.75 backspacing

keep in mind even with a 3.75 your only gaining 3/4 of a inch over your 4.5's

 

If all you want is for them to stick out you could save a bunch of money by just buying a set of spacers. Will have the same effect on your truck as running diff backspacing.

 

if you really want them to stick out get 3 or 3.25 back spacing

 

Actually if the 3.75" backspacing is on an 8" wheel versus his 7.5" wheel, the outside of the wheel will stick out an additional 1.25". Still not a huge amount.

Don't buy wheel spacers. You will spend more on good (which is a relative term) wheel spacers than you will by selling your wheels and buying new ones with the correct backspacing.

 

wheel spacers + 2in BS never hurt hahah but trust me...you DONT want ur wheels sticking out as much as mine.
