Dyna Beads - Any Experiences?
Has anybody had any experiences with these? My tires are out of balance and I have been considering these.

I want them, but I heard if you have any patches that they tear them up over time. One of my tires had to get patched on like the 3rd day I had them so I'm not sure if getting them would be asking for trouble. I should email the company and ask. But I researched them a lot and they seem to be really good, I haven't heard anything bad about them.

I have them. They do a great job in my 37s, I have heard the smaller the tire they dont seem to work as well. I am not sure if that is true. I have also heard not to run them in a tire smaller than 35. But they run them in motor cycle tires?
For the price I think they are worth it. I was actually thinking about running them in my 150 because for some reason i get a nice shake around 50. You can just add them to your current balancing.
As for tearing up patches that is a new one to me. I wouldnt think something that small would do that.

I have been thinking about running these too.
I swear one of my KM2's must be slightly out of round of the shop is just retarded. Around here, it's probably the shop, lol. I have had them re-balance a tire a couple of times (when I rotate the vibration moves), but all it does is changes the speed the vibration occurs at. Now it is pretty smooth all the way until right about 70. I though they balanced it well until I drove over a thousand miles on the freeway this week. Pretty annoying at 70-80mph.
I'm still concerned about running beads though having read mixed reviews. Seems like the best thing to do is a good standard balance (with no tire lube), then let the air out and dump the beads in with the tire in the same position on the wheel?
Zach the 50-60 mph shake can be really common on the 04+ F150. Seems like the stiff frame sometimes causes a resonance very easily with a small imbalance. Does it look like a corner of the bed is bouncing a little in the mirror? Mine smoothed out a lot with a little weight in/on the bed. But it was primarily caused by the small imbalance in one wheel I think, because it was nearly gone when I rotated the tires.

yep that is exactly what mine does. i was thinking it was the shop too but they have balanced my 35s i had on my ranger and they were perfect every time. so i dont think its the shop.
i may try the beads. they dont really poor in and you have to change the valve cores out because the beads will stick there.
i really like the bead solution, because when you air down and are wheeling you could slip the tire on the wheel, when you air up they wont be balanced any more, with beads they rebalance on their own.

what's the theory behind these? i mean, they will distribute evenly of course, but if the sidewall of the tire is where the out of ballence is, the inside of the tire, where these beads will go, won't change, not to mention if there is a larger section (measuring from bead to tred) they will all congregate here, which would make that "bulge" even larger...
