any changes in the wheels? offset? backset?

I have a stock 03 Ranger s/cab 2 wheel drive with a 3.0 auto. I have a nice set of 225 70r 15's but they look so small on the truck... I want to know for sure that a set of 05 Ranger wheels from a 4x4 will fit. I am not sure about offset or backspacing etc, but I believe the bolt pattern has NOT change. Any input?
The tires on the 05 wheels are 255 r 70's... They are about 4 inches taller.

Those should fit just fine with the offset and backspacking. Bolt patterns in all Rangers is 5X4.5 except for the 80's models. How much lift do you plan on putting on the truck? Cause I do not believe those tires will fit without a lift. I might be wrong though and somebody correct me if I am.

post a pic of the wheel style your after for a specific yes or no. because im almost positive the 16" y-spokes only available on 4x4's have to be milled in the center to clear a 2wd hub properly, but older 5 spoke edge style rims will swap.

As for lift I wasn't ready to jump into and lift add-on's. I thought the wheels would look good and raise the truck up a bit. The tires I have right now are more like a street tire. Their Grand Am Radial GT's 225 70r 15's, and I wanted a more aggressive tread pattern for the winter snow, but also wanted the lift. I may be better off just getting new tires... don't want to get into a lift kit now.

If the the reason you wanted new wheels is to get the tires too. Just get some new tires for the wheels on the truck now. Those goodyear tires are CRAP. Good for nothing more than highway driving on a summer day.

I know your right about that. I run Duler Revo's on my F-150 and just love em'. Traction in the snow is phenomenal. The softer compound does wear quicker but when I almost lost control when I first got the f-150 when I was passing a car with the BF Goodrich tires made me think... Got the Bridgestones and I never looked back.

I was afraid of that. Meaning that they were stock size... I have been unable to verify that. I think it (the Ranger) looks kinda dumb with that size tires, but this is from a guy that has oversize tires and a front end lever kit on an f-150 for a few years. So I know if I increase the height of the tire I will throw off the speedo a bit... Oh well!
