Bigger tires for 06 STX?
Hi everyone,I recently purchased an 06 regular cab STX.I've seen a few people lower these but where I live that's not much of an option with pot holes and such.I have read the sticky in this forum about tire size but didn't see anything about an STX in there.Basically I'm wondering How big of tires can I put on with out a lift? From what I've read The torsion crank is not an option for me so keep that in mind.I've read thread after thread on here of people asking the same question but none of them was for an stx. Thanks for any help you can provide,Joe

btw STX is the same thing as a 2wd XLT 01+ just with a mother of god huge *** valance and a mazda bed that you will never find aftermarket tailights for....
got back to the chart and go from there. and yes if there 15's there 15x7 stock...
btw no clue with tire clearness on the freaking huge front valance you have you would be the first one to find out...
AND ON that note ******* thats 10,000 posts and I am OUT for the night see you all in the morning

Me too!Didn't think that would happen! Thanks for the input! And yes the valance is cartoonishly large. That's what I was the most concerned about as far as clearance!I'm also having a hell of a time trying to find a bed cover for my inbred looking truck!Odd looking as she may be I love her!But that's for another forum.I'm going to assume at this point with my valance The biggest I could go would be 30x9.5....I guess no one else has done this yet?Or am I the only stx owner on here

Usually it will seem like you can fit larger tires in there. But in reality, when you get the tires on and start turning them left and right, it pushes the outside or inside edge of the tire ridiculously close to the valence. I don't know if it would be worse in your case. If I were you, find a friend who has the same bolt pattern and just try some sizes. Also, if you know anyone who works/owns a tire place, maybe they would test fit some used tires for you, just remember new tires will have a little more tread. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Well there ARE more STX trucks out there, I have a 06 STX as well. HOWEVER, I didn't want BIGGER tires I just wanted wider wheels and tires. ALSO, your turck came with 16 x 7's NOT 15's. here is what I put on.
IF you stay with a 7" wheel, or if you go with 8" wheels keep the offset at no greater than a +24, a +12 is stock for the 7" wheel. but with a 30" tires you should have no clearance problems. but the BEST recomendation was arlready stated, and that would be to test fit different tires of the size and style or size wheels you intend to use.
