New Wheels/Tires..offset?

OK, I've done a crap load of searching & I guess I'm confused.
I'm thinking very seriously about picking up 5 of these as soon as I get my taxes back:

http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...71-Black.shtml
It doesn't say what the back spacing is but @ 15x8 its got a offset of -27mm, bolt pattern of 5x114.3mm.
Will these stick out to far or sit in too far?
I'll be getting 5 32x11.5x15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
Thanks for any help

Rick

by the looks of them they are a mickey thompson classic 2 knock off, which alot of companies do and usually on a 15x8 the backspacing ranges from 3.5-4.

if you look here the 15x8 Classic 2 is -30mm offset

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku

and based off this picture and since the width really isnt to the outside im just gonna venture to guess that the lip in each side is 3/8" = .375"

on a 15x8 total width is 8.75 / 2 = 4.375

take 4.375 - 1.063 (27mm your offset) = 3.312" backspacing which is dang close to a 15x8 Mickey Thompson Classic two that a lot of ranger guys run.

if you dont think im very close do the math for the Mickey Thompson 15x8 Classic II

We know the backspacing is 3.313 and the offset is -30mm width 8"

4" - 1.181 (30mm) = 2.8189" backspacing

take the backspacing 3.313 - 2.8189 = .4941 = the width of the lip, so i was pretty close saying the lip was 3/8" thick.

even if we figure the lip at 1/2"
9/2 = 4.5
4.5 - - 1.063 (27mm your offset) = 3.437" backspacing.

if none of that made sense... the short answer is those wheels will work perfectly.

should be about somewhere between 3.25 and 3.5" of backspacing i used a chart from https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace i have a -19 offset on my rims (3.75" backspacing) and they stick out past the fender about 1" to an 1-1/2"

8" width and -27mm offset translates to just under 3.5" backspacing. Stock Ranger is 4.5"

So, compared to a stock tire/wheel:

the inside wheel lip would be just over 1" farther out;
the outside wheel lip would be just over 2" farther out;
the centerline of the tire would be just over 1.5" farther out.

Used with a 32x11.50 tire, you could have contact with the bumper and/or inner fender when turning.

its ok, i get confused by it too but it was just a bunch of math to figure out the backspacing. if you have either the offset or the backspacing you can figure out the other using those.

Thanks a bunch guys. I think I'll take my chances & hope they don't stick out to far beyond the fender flares. Already broke the news to the wife that I'm buying ANOTHER set of rims & tires. I can't post her comments because it would be ************ out.
I guess I can't blame her since the current wheels & tires aren't even 6 months old yet but she wasn't to surprised since I did the same thing on my Eclipse. Hopefully Discount Tires will give me a nice trade-in value like they did with the Eclipse.
Anyways..thanks, hopefully these new ones will spice up the side view a bit, right now its kinda bland.

Thanks, @ this point in time I'm leaning towards the 32 x 11.5 x 15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's.

Thanks, yea, I've gotta think of my mileage since I drive 100+ miles a day to work. I would luv to put a lift & @ least 33's but every inch of tire size I go up my mileage drops that much more. The new tires will be 5 pounds lighter than my current tires & hopefully the wheels are a bit lighter as well. I took a huge hit in mileage when I upgraded this last time but @ the time I wasn't thinking.

I'm back up to 315 miles to a tank & averaging 18MPG since I did the programmer, fan & pulley but it dropped way off when I added the wheels & tires.

I found a site that has those wheels with these specs: 15x8 5/4.5 with a 3 1/2" back spacing but nothing about offset..."Sigh", either they give me 1 or the other but no both.

Of course, the most accurate way would be to physically measure all three dimensions.

The overall width of factory or aftermarket wheels commonly used on Rangers is very close to 1" greater than the nominal width. Using that fact, you can closely approximate the offset, backspacing or nominal width if you know the other two parameters.

Offset = backspacing - [(nominal width + 1") / 2]

In the case of an 8" width and 3.5" BS:

3.5" - [(8" + 1") / 2] = -1" = -25.4mm

Notice that this result is very close the the -27mm quoted in the other chart.

Ahh...could be exactly the same then, just a different site. Cool, I'm going down today to order the wheels & tires. There goes a big chunk of my tax return.
Damn, this truck is taking a lot & not giving much back...yet.
Hopefully it can win a few shows this year.

OK, I ordered the wheels & tires, the tires are the BFG's as I mentioned above, the wheels are a brand I didn't catch when he told me. I asked for the Ions & he said(discount tires) the finished is bad but had some that looks the same. It also has a different offset..more to fit the Ranger..we will see. I also unloaded my Tires & wheels @ a loss for $450.
Aslo ordered screamin Demon Coil pack, yellow Spark Plug wires & outerwears Prefilter in yellow. I'll pick up some spark plugs when I get the coil & wires, I'm guessing the standarm Motorcraft is the way to go..hows about Denso iridiums?

sweet deal......i think you will like the coil pack IF you gap out the plugs.....as far as new plugs goes, dont get nothing but MOTORCRAFT!!! no other brand will run as well as the Motorcraft plugs in our 4.0's....
