Buckshot vs. Mud Rover

So from what I have gathered the Maxxis Buckshot out preforms the Dunlop Radial Mud Rover offroad, but what is the treadlife difference between the 2? I can get the Dunlops about $20 cheaper a piece too, but if the Buckshot will last longer i will go with that one

My truck had Buckshots when i got it. They always had traction in the mud but I wore them down in like 3 months because the truck is my DD.

Beard has his for a long time put a decent amount of miles then josh used them for a long time after not

OmegaRanger Jul 9, 2008 11:25 AM

a comparable tire to those are mud kings, probably cheaper and outperform. Never seen the dunlops...

Roach2004 Jul 9, 2008 11:52 AM

I would not recomend either! I had Dunlops then went to Buckshots! Now I have BFG's and they are worth the extra money!

yeah i've heard nothing good about the dunlops.. the buckshots however are a pretty good tire..

another option would be the maxxis bighorn, they're a little bit more than the buckshot but i like the tread pattern better on them.

if the dunlops are anything like their dirtbike tires they will be awesome for the first ride (maybe 10k on a truck) then be sh!t. they ware faster than any other tire brand i have seen... but that is for dirtbikes, cars may be different.

Redneckstone Jul 9, 2008 06:02 PM

there was a ebay store that had them a few years back... might be worth checking out

I have buckshots on my truck... when i got them they had 30xxx miles on them and so far i have put 6000 on them and they still have some tread left but not much, all in all on my 2wd i have never gotten stuck with them and have been very pleased with them but for the price i will look different ways on my next set, good offroad but they are loud when wore down and not so good on a DD

meemooer Jul 9, 2008 10:39 PM

i have about 40K on my first set of Buckshots. I hated them the first time in the mud, but then i aired down alot, and everything was lovely. They are badly worn from a badly worn alignment. 3 out of for are smooth from the center in, but they still tear it up in some light mud surprisingly. On road they handle well. I've been playing with cornering speed on 270 degree entrance ramps and they will hold a good line, and i've never had a problem in the rain unless i got on it just to spin them. I'll buy set #2 shortly
