Can I fit a 10.5" wide tire on spare tire rim?

I'm switching over to new tires, so I'm looking to see if one of my old 33x10.5 tires can fit on the spare tire's rim. Currently they fit on my 8" wide rims with no problem, however I have no idea of the width of my spare tire's rim.

I am not yet set on doing this, I'm first going to see if (with some trimming) I can get a 33" tire in my stock spare tire location.

Thanks guys.

Cody, if I have to worry about wear on a spare tire, then I'm doing something wrong -I hope never to have to use it.

Billy, I have one of John's old 35" tires as well, but that's on the Bronco. I am going to replace that with one of the 33's too, because it doesn't hold much air. I'd rather have a spare tire 2" smaller then a flat one.
