Tire Guide

I notice people always asking questions on how tire "x" does in the rain/snow/mud/sand/and noise and i was wondering if anyone has ever made a tread and put together a collection of the most common tires people on here w/ member ratings.

If there isn’t one id be willing to start it id just need input from guys who actually have used them.

These tires are on my '97 Ranger in a 35x12.50x15 size. This is the second set of larger diameter (first set was 33x12.50x15) and i am getting exceptional wear out of them. The first set i got 44,000 miles out of before I sold to someone else who used them for a bit and then sold them again. As far as I know they are still on the road. The 35's I have had for roughly 6,000 miles and they still look new.

I had these on a '96 Chevy S-10 Blazer. They were the stock tire size (235/75/15 or something like that). They didn't wear good at all. In the snow, you wouldn't go (even with a limited slip diff they couldn't get traction). In the rain, be prepared to turn the wheel the other way. They wore out in less than 30,000 miles.

Not the greatest stock tire ever on a Ranger. They are OK for the street. They wear decent. In rain and snow, you should stay home if you have these tires.

I have put 25k on 6 tires, great tires, kinda noisy, do great in the rain, no issues in the snow really for a mud tire. Have been in the sand, balance really well, great tire. 35x12.5x15

pressure pressure pressure. don't be afraid to take these babies down. awesome in sand. rain, siping helps, but they break loose pretty easy. mud, awesome, clean nicely, rock-little bit hard compound, run them super low and you won't regret it. snow-kickass!!! specially in the deep stuff. noise-not as loud as some but not an a/t. wear- good hard compound, wear nice for you if you treat them right

These are by far not offroad tires but they perform really well in snow for being all season performance tires, i drove with them all winter and only got stuck once because i slid off an iced over driveway into about 2 ft of snow. Best rain traction ive ever seen in a tire before and so far they've worn quite well aside from when my ball joints were bad and i had bad camber

let us clearify what the 1-10 scale is: I am assuming that 1 being worst and 10 being best

i did it this way so there will be multiple ratings on the same tire... you can see what multiple people say w/ out reading the whole thread, especially if this thread gets long.

plus it would be easier to see if someone has put a raiting up on the tire you like/want w/out searching threw the whole thread
