firestone blamed cooper.
cooper blamed firestone.
in the end, cooper re-imbursed firestone.
the firestone dealer, here in town, said he would never sell another cooper tire.
i like my tires. great wet weather traction(compared to my old bfg mud terrains)... i haven't been in any real slop, but i was in some wet grass/slight mud, on an awkward hill, and they didn't slip a bit.
they're working great for me.
if they don't last the 45000 miles that my bfg muds did, then i am gonna go back to mud terrains, next time...

I have the new Cooper STTs too. Haven't noticed any problems and luckily mine haven't blown out like Christians. I've had them in the slop Christian, they do pretty good. The pics I've posted in the snow and Wharton trip this past weekend were with the STTs.
UPDATE: I talked to Cooper's customer relations today, just to make sure, and they told me that regardless of the brand name they were sold under the only truck tires affected by the recall are size LT285/75R16.
