Yeah a guy at work showed me them. Apparently they are slotted for production too. They aren't just a concept anymore.
Very cool indeed.

what happens when you need to air down your 33" mud tire to go off road?

I was just going to post that lol

All you do is use a torch to soften up the rubber!

Also what is going to happen to the police spike strips?

Yeah I've seen those before. Defiantly a cool design but most likely expensive as hell and would only be good for certain climates.

I wonder if they will. Maybe that was only the test models so that you could see what the whole deal is with the tire?

IDK but they are defiantly ugly and need some more rubber on the outside.

^^with the flexy steel it should ride pretty good. There has been a lot of opposition from law enforcement apparently because of the spike strip issue.

I would bet that the production version of these comes out with a side wall. Not only for looks, but I can see stuff like rocks and road debris gettting caught up in the tires and then thrown out, damaging the car and what not... i think its a great idea for a street tire

pretty cool design. they would be stupid not to put sidewalls on them. I wonder what the price will be for them and how much tread life they have?

From a performance standpoint those wheels/tires will far exceed the performance of neumatic tires. There wil be NO sidewall flex in cornering. The tire won't tuck under itself and so on. I've also heard that these wheels/tires are easily refitted with different rubber treads. Swapping a different tire onto the wheels can take minutes with simple hand tools.
