cragars

i found the exact rims i want to get but I'm not sure what the bolt pattern is for an '09 ranger can anyone help me out here. also i'm trying to find out if BFG all terrains will fit on these rims. Cragar | Come Get Your Muscle

5x4.5 bolt pattern and the next question is what size tire are you gonna run?

dracowing14 03-03-2010 05:13 PM

I'd like to go with a 15 inch rim and a 31 inch tire if they'll fit on my stock ranger. I'd love to get 33's but I'd have to get a 3 inch body lift i think.

Lazler 03-03-2010 05:20 PM

yeah.. i dunno if the 31's will even fit the new rangers.. someone's gonna have to correct me if i'm wrong or agree with me cause i'm right.

dracowing14 03-03-2010 05:23 PM

i currently have a 30 inch on a 16 inch rim so I'm not sure if it works that way but shouldn't a 31 fit on a 15 if not which one would it be for a 30 inch.

Lazler 03-03-2010 05:38 PM

all i know is the newer rangers are lower then the older ones.. so it might rub

Lazler 03-03-2010 05:43 PM

so i got corrected.. you can run a 31x10.50x15 on your truck.. so its up to you if you want a 15x7 or 15x8 rims. The tires will fit either or lol

dracowing14 03-03-2010 06:20 PM

which would you recommend for a wider tire i'm guessing the 8's

dracowing14 03-03-2010 06:23 PM

so i'm looking for the cragar black soft 8's 5X4.5 bolt pattern and its a 15X8 inch rim now i also notice it mentions a 6 inch offset and a 4.75 rear spacer what do these mean and will it affect me.

zabeard 03-03-2010 06:26 PM

6" will be tucked in more than stock wheels. probably wont work on a ranger.

4.75" backspacing will make it stick out of the fender more. you want to run these. (4.75)

dracowing14 03-03-2010 06:31 PM

ok so they will ro wont work the 6 inch offset and the 4.75 rear spacer are on the same rim.

dracowing14 03-03-2010 06:33 PM

ok my bad there's 2 the first has a 6 offset and a 4.75 rear spacer the second has a -13 offset with a 4 rear spacer

zabeard 03-03-2010 06:37 PM

you lost me?

offset is the distance from the center of the wheel (in this case 4") to the mounting surface.
backspacing is the distance from the inside lip of the wheel to the mounting surface.

6" backspacing will put the wheel 1.25" further in the fender well compared to a 4.75" backspacing

offset is just another way to relate to backspacing.

Lazler 03-03-2010 06:39 PM

take a look at the link he posted.. i was confused too

zabeard 03-03-2010 06:45 PM

oh i guess i understand now...

let me make is simple for you...

Cragar 3975812 - Cragar Soft 8 Wheels - Overview - SummitRacing.com

that is what you want

zabeard 03-03-2010 06:48 PM

-13mm offset is 4" backspacing
6 mm offset is 4.75" backspacing

dracowing14 03-03-2010 06:51 PM

ya so will either of these fit on an '09 ranger with 31" tires

Lazler 03-03-2010 07:36 PM

yeah

Downey 03-03-2010 07:37 PM

i thought you wanted 3.75 back spacing isnt that what stock? and wont 4.75 on a wider rim make it rub while turning
