Given that gas may hit $6....

Anyone thought about going to a fuel saver tire? Goodyear® Assurance® Fuel Max® tires are $155.42 at Sam’s Club for the 265/75R16s. They also rate a Max Load: 2755 lbs @ 51 psi, so these are some tough little tires. I assume they will be load range E, but didn't see anything in the writeup....so that has me concerned since my truck rides so smooth (NOT) with my #1 Torsion bars and C leafs. Thoughts?

there might not be a write up since the market is still relatively new.

is it really worth spending $500 on new tires? i mean really how much mileage can you gain? you might have to change your driving habits to do what you can. i'm not saying your speedy or rev it high but i mean like group you trips into one day instead of two or three. shop at one place instead of driving all around from place to place.

I wouldn't get new tires till I needed them, and I'm liking the Duratracs a lot, but these things are warranted to 70,000 miles and are supposed to save enough over their life to give fuel savings equivalent to driving 2600 miles free. I'm already a pretty frugal driver, as I average 18 mpg with the auto and 4.0.

I agree 100%....I hate these stock Wranglers in the wet, but I'm too cheap to replace them while the still have good tread. Also have one that looses air (couple pounds a week) and it's annoying to keep filling.
