I have a 95 for ranger xl 2 wheel drive 4.0 and i was wondering how i could get better traction in snow and ice conditions because i live in minnesota also what are some good snow tires that can fit on it every thing is stock

As suggested, weight over the wheels/ axles. Reducing the tire width will also help.

snow tires are a 2WD Rangers best friend. Though, I have been running Mastercraft Avenger G/T passenger tires for 2 winters now with 200lbs in the bed and have had no problems what so ever.

 

As people are saying a good set of tires and some weight in the bed over the wheels and you'll be amazed by the amount of snow you'll be able to get through.

I ran 260lbs in the bed over the wheels... I'm doing the same thing in my 4 wheel drive truck as well. I drove the 4x4 in lots of snow without weight and sure 4x4 will get you going but the truck just handles, turns and stops so much better with a bit of weight in back when it's slippery.

260lbs in the back and good snow tires it'll be great in the snow. I'm running Bridgestone Blizzak dmv1's and they are good.

 

Studded winter tires.....if you can run them there. And some weight in the bed too.
