33x10.5 vs 33x12.5

Hey All,
I've been pretty set up to now to get 33x10.5 BFG MTs to put on my truck, however recently I've been noticing a few people putting 33x12.5 BFGs on the stock Alcoa wheels.
One of the main problems is I have a total of 7 of the original Alcoas that I use and they all need to stay the same (4 for the truck, 1 spare, 2 for a matched trailer). I don't want (read: can't afford) to spend even more money to buy 7 new, different wheels.
All that said, I just got my boby lift in the mail, and I'm going to modify it to 2" and put it on shorty. After it's on, should I go with the 33x10.5 and have the tires look a little skinny (pizza cutters as some say) or put on the 33x12.5 tires and have them look a little bubble-ish, and they'll be outside of the manufacture's suggested rim widths.

Any help and opinions would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Don

10.5's

besides they are better in the snow being tall and skinny.

33x10.5 would be better (safer) on those wheels since you will not be putting the extra strain on the sidewalls of the tires and they will last much longer too with the correct width tires on those wheels since they will not be bubbleing out in the middle

Thanks for all the opinions guys... I'll stick with the 10.5 width.

As for the trailer.. It's still not quite done, but going to be the same color as my truck, same wheels and tires, same ground clearances and width, and will be able to use a pintle hook so that I can take it off road with me when camping. I'm making it out of a homemade frame, and a Reading Utility bed. I'm going to take pictures this weekend as I'll finally have time to finish up the welding on the axles. You wouldn't beleive how much thought (mostly going back and forth between ten different alternatives) I've put into this project. :o)

Again, thanks for your help

I really don't think the tires look that skinny any more than the 12.5 look too wide
I have to believe there is a lot less stress with a 10.5 width versus 12.5 on the suspension and joints
the Alcoa's are just 7" wide and that leaves 2.5 inch of over hang with a 12.5 tire
too much bulging - you will break a bead easily when aired down
I have not yet had to air these down, but suspect they will widen VERY nicely at 15-20 PSI

these tires have performed very well in mud or sand
they really dig in and BITE!!

Thanks Neil, I hadn't see your pictures in awhile, and they do look fine. I guess I was just second guessing myself.

As far as the trailer, I'll post the progress pics tomorrow or early next week. As far as Deavers, I doubt I'll go that route because of the cost. I'll probably just use add-a-leafs and I've already bought lift shackles (or drop shackles for Chevy's) to get the required height out of the old leaf springs.
