First time Ranger owner needs new rims/tires

Hi folks,

Just bought a 00 Ford Ranger single cab RWD with the flare/stepside. When brought to my mechanic, i was told that the current tires that had been recently put on the truck are too small (smaller than the stock/factory size) at 215/60/R15 and I had absolutely no idea.

Turns out the rims need replacing anyways, so I'm in the market For a whole new set up, but don't know where to begin or start. I plan to lift the truck eventually, but for now would like something in the 30's/31's and a recommended rim size that i can look into that would work with the stock set up and the hopes of a lift. a wheel spacer recommendation would help as well.

Thanks!

Joe

Welcome to R-F Joe, take a look at the sticky at the top of this section "chart of maximum tire sizes" this should give you a good starting point, what size rims and tires probably came with your truck, and what you can fit on there with and without a lift, torsion bar crank etc. As far as wheel spacers, I don't have any experience with them and most people around here don't seem to recommend them. just get wheels with the proper offset.
