Up until 07' I think Jeeps have had 5x4.5 lug pattern so as long as the wheels aren't off a newer style Jeep they'll fit fine.

Most Jeep rims have 5"+ of backspacing, Rangers have much less. The center hole is also smaller than Rangers.
That's OEM Jeep stuff though, any aftermarket will fit as they have the same pattern as stated earlier.

sorry to do this but I gotta ask.... A buddy is wanting to get rid of his Jeep and I love his wheels, the are aftermarket 16x8's with a 5.08 backspacing. He is willing to make me a deal if they will fit.... so will they? Im worried about the backspacing.

Hmm interesting because these wheels dont look like they are really sunk in. Ive tried going to other wheel carriers and they say it wont fit.... even though they offer a smaller back spacing such as 3.75 and 4.50

Here is a pic of what they are

not being sunk in on his jeep has nothing to do with how they will fit on your ranger...

you won't have an aggressive stance with that offset, and if the sites are saying you should go with a different offset, they might know their stuff and you might hit something on the suspension or inner fender when you turn/stuff, idk... i'm not an expert on ranger specs though, so i'm sure someone else will chime in...

Im running 4.5 offset on the ranger with 31x10.5x15 and a 5" offset on a TJ with 32x11.50x15's. Yes the 32's will fit the ranger, but I couldn't turn full lock. tire hits quite alot, If I were home I would take pics and show the difference between the two.

5" is the factory offset on the Jeeps from 1987.5 - 2006 model years.
That is including the YJ, TJ and most Grand Cherokee's there are a few GC's running 4.5 but they were the 2wd models and the cherokee's were the same 4.5 ( some with 5)
Don't know the factory offset on the Ranger, just followed what the other posts in here said and ordered the 4.5 offset to keep it looking how I wanted.
The factory ranger rim didn't fit the TJ due to the hub's im running but my TJ rims fit the Ranger ONLY because they are honed out to fit my Hubs.
