Time for new tires

Hey guys, i think its time to buy some new tires, I was wondering what kind of tires the ranger comes stock with? Also, I was thinking I might want to get some bigger tires, not huge but "beefy" looking, any of you guys have any preferences? thanks

you could fit some 31x10.50's for a 15" rim on there. Do you have 15" or 16" rims?

What are you using the tires for? 100% street driving? Off roading? Mixture of the two? Winter only?

My recommendations

Street only - Michelin LTX M/S
Great on the street, extremely quiet, works great on dry pavement, wet pavement and light snow. Also has great wear characteristics (I had 70K on mine and had at least another 10K left. My uncle had a set that lasted over 120K, but he always gets tires to last forever.)

Off Roading - BFGoodrich Mud Terrain - Great in mud, on rocks, deep snow, looks cool. Terrible in rain and on ice and light snow. Loud. OK in dry conditions.

Mixture - BFGoodrich All Terrain - Good on dry pavement, slight slippage in heavy rain (will not hydroplane), decent in light snow, pretty good in deep snow, good for hardpacked trail riding, looks cool (not as cool as MTs, but cool nonetheless). Fair in mud (it isn't great but it'll get you through most times), Ok on rocks, but not great.

Winter - Get a set of ag tires and chains

I agree, Michelin LTX M/S, they have been great for me!! Or the BFG A/T's... You really don't want mud tires if you live in an area with deep snow, mud tires are made to self clean, and snow tires hold snow in...

i have some 265/75r16s (31s) BFG All terrains on my truck and i absolutely love them. i have put about 6-10k miles on them so far and they are grate. i have only driven them on wet and dry pavement so far but im sure they will do fine in the snow this winter.

Well, I live here in northeast south dakota, if you all have ever heard of such a place haha, im the only member in the state, but lets see here, 90% of driving is for pavement, but the winter can sometimes bring deep snow, also i dont mind the occassional offroad mud pits, and i have these rims just stock. haha that was the day i picked the truck up, on top of the 11k i spent add another 40 bucks cuz i locked myself out about 30 mins after that hahaha

goodyear wrangler rts was what mine came with stock and they sucked... when i first got new tires i went with the 31x10.5x15 BFGoodrich A/T's and i was very happy with them... the two winters i had them in they did great in the snow and can last 80k if you rotate them properly... here is a pic of my truck with the 31's on the stock rims

ooooo yea.....do some searching.....check out Summit and Tire Rack.....you will have to pay a tad to get them mounted/balanced when you get the tires in the mail, but the overall price savings you will have will be enough to compensate for that...

K, I'm looking at a set of four BF Goodrich A/T's, but what size do I need, I just want the same size tire as the stock ones. I think I have 16 inch rims, If you can tell by the picture above (white truck).
