Longer wheel studs.

:smirk: Im wanting to get longer wheel studs to put on the adapters. Just to be safe. They have been riding fine. But after looking at them i wouldnt mind longer ones.

12x1.5 on the adapter studs..

Anyone know where i can get some longer ones?

It would be hard anyway, to hammer out the excisting studs on the adapter.

Anyone have any experience ordering them from anyone?
:smirk:
Thanks

you need to know the shank size of the hole that the stud mounts in

FoMoCoFiddy Mar 16, 2005 04:46 PM

are you ready to die tommy?

j/k.. STANDARD!! wtf? i dont know that. shank(thats ghetto talk for getting stabbed.

Shank, what are the diff sizes?

TReff Mar 16, 2005 04:55 PM

they have to be the same size as the hole they are in! shank is the size of the hole

well, say the size of the hole. You think the people at autozone actaully know these things? lol.. Last time i went up there all technical, they offered me a managers position.

the best way to do it is to take the old stud out and take it up there to matck it up ...and get longer ones....

hahahhaha :006:

What you need to know is the Knurl size of the stud. Thats the part of the stud that 'locks' into the hub/adapter. Contact the manufacturer and ask them what the Knurl is for the adapters.

Oh, you will also need to know the shoulder measurement too. Believe me, its not as easy as you think it would be. I was looking for longer studs for my Ranger and it became a nightmare. Ended up just getting Acorn Lug Nuts with a shank on the end.

are longer studs safe? i may need a spacer to clear my 12.50s that will be going on in a few months. would this be better then an offset wheel?

gbgary Mar 16, 2005 08:12 PM

be sure to get deeper lug nuts too. just ask john about that.

autozone doesnt have longer lugs, they only have stock sizes, you need ones from summit, jegs, or similar performance stores

Says, in catalog, that this fits most disc brakes front and rear on Fords.

This is the list of all the ARP studs they have.

FoMoCoFiddy Mar 16, 2005 09:35 PM

These are going on adapters, not my wheel hub.

3906brad Mar 16, 2005 09:50 PM

Oh yeah. All you need is shoulder and knurl size and youre set.
