backspacing

I'm lookin at buying wheels and the ones I'm looking at come in 15x8 with the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. The only offered backspacing is 4 or 4.75, will I have any problems with the 4? When I see people reccomend wheels they always reccomend 3.wutever. With 32x11.5 tires will I have any issues with the tires sticking out past the fenders? What about with 33x10.5's? Thanks in advance.

ideal backspacing for a 15x8 is 3.75"........you will be fine with 4" Backspacing with a 11.5" tire.....since the stock wheel backspacing is 4.5"...

The 10.5's are smaller...so if lifted97ranger says you are fine with 11.5's you will be fine with 10.5's

4" with 10.5" wide will NOT stick out past the fender at all.. on my truck my 265x75x16 on 16x8 with 4" backspacing. they where RIGHT at the fender lip... and i dont have fender flares so yours will still be inside and you will be fine

while we are on the subject, and also so i dont make a new thread. can someone explain the backspacing on rims. that is the only thing I have no clue on how to figure which i need. im gonna be running 33x12.50x15 on 15x10in rims. i want the tires to come right to the edge of my fender flares, if not stick out just a little.

edit:nevermind, I just found it through a little more extenive searching

The less backspacing the further the rim pushes your tires out because of where it sits. A 3.5 backspacing will stick out a lot more than 4. A 15x10 rim is already pretty wide and should definitely stick out a litte bit. 15x8s with a 3.75 bs might be better if you don't want them sticking out too much.

i think a 4 inch bs with a 15x10 would be perfect if you can find that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

so 4 sounds best, im going to be putting my 31x10.5x15 on some 15x8 rims. but
it sounds like 4 would be good for a 15x10" rim... does that mean it will be more inside the finder with the rims im getting?

if you buy a 15x10 wheel, you wont be able to find 4" backspacing with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern......and you wont want 4" backspacing because you will not be able to turn fully...

If I knew anything about tires and what not I'd go outside and figure this out with a measuring tape, but I don't... If I ran 33x12.50's on a 15x8 with the 4" backspacing how much tire is gonna be hanging past my stock fender flares?

BUMP

Anyone have a clue? Trying to decide if I need to invest in fender flares to avoid the fix it or ticket from dumbass PA police... Also if I order "locking" nuts and what not for the tires, Summit is listing three different packages. Which one would be the best?

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=MCG-84537

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=MCG-84532

Thanks for the help in advance. I'd like to get a full list together soon so I can hopefully order it all...
