Advice and Opinions Please! BFG/Toyo?
Im needing new tires soon. I got a 2009 ford ranger sport 4x4.
The two tires im looking at are Bfgoodrich t/a ko and the Toyo open country a/ts. Just basically seeing if anyone has any experience with these tires? Any other tires to look at?
Driving wise is lots of highway driving in rain and how ever much snow falls, which hasn't been a lot here. Do the logging roads or basic stock 4x4 trails for camping year round.
Thanks!
Oh, one other thing, i found the size chart for tires. When it says 16x7, what does that mean? Also anyone have 265/70/16's on a newer ranger? I saw it said mild t-bar crank might be needed for this size. If it is ill wait till the warranty's up and get stock size tires for now. Thanks again and sorry for the newb questions !

I've never had either tire. My buddy had the toyo a/t's on his dakota, he didn't like them too much. He thought they were a little to hard of a compound. I know lots of guys that won't run anything except bfg's. Have you looked at the big o all terrains? The warranty is next to none. I had bridestone dueller revo's on my ranger, they were AWESOME tires a little soft though. I noticed your in poco, I'm just across the pitt bridge on the maple ridge/pitt meadows border.

265's will fit. Some guys even have 275's i believe.
I vote BFG. I've run them for years. i currently have a set of 32X11.5 BFGs on my truck now. I rotate every 6000 miles and i've had great wear and little tire noise. Lots of guys on the site here run them also, I haven't heard anything about the Toyos.
