Mustang wheel fitment.....

I am a noob to rangers but have seen a lot of guys with mustang wheels on their rangers. I have an extra set of 99 cobra wheels and I just bought a 2003 XLT 2WD Ranger and attempted to put the wheels on and the fronts won't even allow the spindles to pass through where the center caps are. I know there are issues with running center caps on the mustang wheels but I thought that was the only issue. Do the wheels need to have the center cap hole clearanced? Is there a complete tech article? Are there other front spindle assemblies that can be ran to eliminate needing to do any extra work and also losing the center caps?

If you take the dust caps off will they fit? because i was reading on another site that with most 2wd's you need to take the dust caps off to fit the mustang wheels off

Some OEM Mustang wheels don't have clearance for the ranger hubs.. I had an aftermarket set of '03 Cobra's on my 2000 and they fit, but like you mentioned could not run the center caps.

thats when you take the dust caps off of the bearings??? just make sure the center cap is siliconed on so no dirt gets in there and you should be fine

The wheels wouldn't clear over the hubs. I would hate to "clearance" them just in case I decide to throw them on my mustang again.

I ran adapters on my truck when I ran my 19" wheels on it. The adapters spaced out the wheels 2.5" inches and made them even with my fender flares.
