Need advice for new rims and tires
My current tires are 225/70/r15 General Grabber AT2 on stock rims. I did some research and I believe they weigh about 57lbs each. I want to go with a 255/45/r20 Atturo AZ800 ON AVERAGE, a rim and tire setup like that would weigh about 65-70lbs depending on rim. What effect would this change have on my mpg?
My truck has 4.10 gears in the rear. I currently average about 20mpg in my 2010 2.3 2wd extended cab. Most of my driving is highway doing 75-80mph.

With the 4.10 gears going from a 27.5" tall tire to a 29" tall tire might actually increase your MPG,
Going from a 8.9" wide tire to a 10" tire may reduce your MPG.
So probably a break even, the weight isn't enough to notice, the 80 lbs for all 4 tires and wheels is less than a tank of gas in weight.
The only issue I see is that a 29" tall tire may not fit on the front.
Also the 45 series tire is going to be a rough/stiff ride, you'll feel every bump in the road.
Your speedometer will be off by about 5% with the new tires
Speedo / Actual
20/21
40/42
60/63
80/84
So you'll need to figure that into your gas mileage or get your speedo re-calibrated
