Good choice, but I hate Kumho's even more than the HTRZ's. Zach, just remember something, buddy.

Tires are the ONLY thing between YOU and the ROAD. The way you say you are going to be driving this thing, you NEED good tires, man. Seriously. It's like building a 700 horsepower dual-quad 4-speed, and then b!tching about the mileage and not being able to afford it.

I don't want to see a cheap tire get blown out, a sidewall gashed, tread falling off [I've seen it], or anything else, man.

Seriously. Don't skimp on tires...but you don't need no Michelin Pilots, either.

I am going with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S, check them out. Affordable, awesome performance and affordable!

Remember, I am still ahead [a teeny bit] on research on these things. Only this is, you can actually PLAY with yours right now...ugh...loser

EDIT: Oh, and CHROME?

Zach, if I can...

I am running 275/40/17 all the way around on a 9" wheel. You will have a 9" in the front, and 10.5" in the back. Fine and dandy. I do, however, like to keep the side of my wheels protected. I think you need a wider tire, buddy. Especially on the front.

The largest 17" Pirelli they make is my 275/40. So, anyway -- you can't get those. Good for you.

How about this, Zach..

You're going to have an Orange truck. You will have black tires. You running a tonneau cover? I have a black roll-up soft cover. You will get black ventvisors. You have black trim on the rear bumper.

Get some black wheels with a polished lip. Then, paint your lugnuts orange, that'd be hot. I think it would, no, not joking. It's be like a circle ring of fire when driving, it'd look like an orange circle near your hub.

But then, that's a 'Hardin' idea. We are always a little out there.

Oh, back to the tires. Dude, for that price and a 220 treadwear with LESS traction than my larger, better treadwear rated tires, and mine are only a dollar more expensive?

Why you don't like Pirelli? They are OEM on like, Prosche and stuff. Mine are technically 'all-season', but they have the Rosso, and other performance summer only tires in your sizes...

Those tires are in different categories, but I would also reccomend you go with the Kumho's. The autocross guys I know really seem to like those tires. Good grip.

I personally dislike Pirellis from personal experiance. They are great for the first 10K, then the gumball rubber is gone. After that, they are as hard as my Wranglers.
A good tire if you can afford to change them every year, otherwise I would go with another brand.

Well, this is why I posted (this thread) for personal opinions and stuff like that. I am not dead set on them, but as far as the online reviews and everything like that -- they are excellent. This is what I need, though. People to speak up about personal experience. Thanks, George!

Zach, BFG G-force are some seriously great tires. Another fine choice that I also see out at the autocrosses. Don't know if you can punish them like the Kumhos, but they look awesome and stick like glue.

Adam, you know me, I have an opinion about everything :)
I had the P7000 on the Eclipse, and they just didn't do it for me. After a year, I had to replace all 4. As a comparison, my Toyos and Yokos would last 3+ years on the car.
Not that I was driving crazy, but the Eclipse is fairly heavy for a sports car, and FWD will eat up tires.
