Tire Choice 33s
Tires size 33x12.5R15 Price wise...well I won't post what I can get them for, but cheap. X= Maxxis Price as it's the cheapest
I'm having a very hard time deciding. Noise isn't an issue, but quieter is a plus. Obviously by tread design the Bighorn>Sport King>Grabber for volume.
Maxxis Bighorn- Out of the tire choices I have I like the aggressiveness of this tire, but being a somewhat off-brand name, I am worried about quality. I checked a few reviews and they seem to be alright, but a little soft. Supposed to be slightly siped.
Price: X
General Grabber AT2 - I've been looking at these tires for a long time and the reviews I read seem rather well. I know its quite different from the above, but it would work for what I do. Lots of siping for good wet weather and snow driving.
Price: X+10
Medalist Sport King AT - Recommended by my very knowledgeable friend. They have good tread, aren't too expensive and seem to be a cross between mud and all terrain. Siped too so that's good.
Price: X+11

They're nice, but see above. And no siping sucks in wet weather.

I used to have the bighorns on my ranger in 35s. They were quieter than my MTZs but they were still loud like you'd expect from a mud tire. They wore out pretty quick as well. I only put about 12k miles on them and the siping is VERY shallow. I would not buy them again....
Out of those 3 tires I'd go for the Grabber.

my vote is for MTZs obviously but Maxxis makes a good tire. They wouldn't be all over the XRRA and WEROCK courses if they weren't

Maxxis is definately not an off brand tire, especially when it comes to aggresive tires. Just check out the Trepadors and Creepy Crawlers for comps, I'd say the majority of WEROCK and XRRA buggies use them.
Go with the Bighorns. They really aren't that loud, they have about the same noise level as the old BFG muds do. And wear for them is great, I've had mine for over 2 years now, wheeled them hard and have at least put ~10K miles on them and they still have plenty of tread left.

What I meant by Maxxis being a somewhat off-brand is the fact they aren't as popular as say, your BF Goodrich, Goodyear, or Michelin. The comment someone made about the siping not being very deep worries me. It rains pretty often here and I drive a lot.
The General, well if I could get those I might very well go with them but I do not know if I can even get a hold of them.
The Sport Kings, well I like them a lot but I still want to hear and see them in person. I have three people that highly recommend them so it's a very viable option.

My vote is for the General Grabbers. I was thinking about getting these tires but ended up going with the MTR's. BF Goodrich AT's are a nice tire but EVERYBODY has them. They are nearly just as much money (here in Canada) as any other agressive off road tire. Be original, go with the grabbers. Nobody has them in 33's on this site to my knowledge.
