NEED MORE INPUT , !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so i was thinking about lifting and bigger tires ,
my question is i want a little bigger tires on my truck so i can put i lift kit on it
but i dont want to stress my 3.0 what do you think is the best tired size that wont stress the motor , and will changing the gears in the rear end help? would tires kill my transmission? or will re-gearing help it ,would it kill the pick up to go big and i know theirs some people out there that have 3.0 with tires i want to hear from you too

need as much input as you can thanks

RangerJacoby99 Sep 15, 2009 11:37 AM

first off you can put bigger tires on it without a lift just do a tbar crank. second if you get a body lift depending on size you can put bigger tires. it all depends on how big you wanna go with your tires i have 33s on mine with the 3.0 i had 3.73 gears and it killed me. so i would say if you have 3.73s gearing is a must.

what size tires do you plan on running? you really should gear down.

joshtank Sep 15, 2009 11:45 AM

i want to go 33' s there no to big and not to little
and im liking the way RangerJacoby99 ranger is siting
yes i am re gearing to like a 4.10 i think that what it is ?
so like a 3 or 4inch body lift? and will i have to do a suspension lift too
lol im new to the whole lifting thing

I have a 3" suspension lift with 31" tires and haven't regeared and my trucks fine. There is a slight power reduction but the 3.0L doesn't have too much power to begin with. If you want bigger than a 31" then i recommend regearing.

if you're only going 33's, what ratio do you have now? if it's 4.10 just leave it
