Icon5 Newbee: tire cupping help please!?

OK, please no harassment for poor tire care, but I need some help. I have a 2001 ford ranger 2x4 with 31' Goodyear wrangler authority A/T extremes, the tires are 2 years old, and have approximately 25k on them, these tires rode around on faulty ball joints/ A-frames for about a year and a half, before getting the the whole arm/ball joint setup replaced. The shocks were just recently replaced as well, however due to the tires riding on a bad front suspension they have fallen victim to some cupping or scalloping. (im also ashamed to say that I have not rotated them at all)......my question is this, now that the front end has been fixed will the tires wear down to smooth again? or are they doomed to be cupped for the rest of their lives? (I understand that cupped tires are supposedly not safe but they do not give me any steering or breaking issues, and the noise doesn't bother me at all, because frankly they are not that loud).....so I need some advice, should I just put them in back, put the good ones in front and let them wear down? do I NEED 2 new tires? please let me know your thoughts!.....I just had the transmission re-built as well, and I would REALLY love to avoid spending any extra money if possible, so please let me know what you think

thanks, Chris

I personally would look at getting 2 decent used tires that look to be about the same tread life as the fronts. just make sure that if you get a different brand, that the like brands stay on the same axle. (ie front/front)

Welcome to the site by the way. post some pics of your truck

Thats the whole point of rotating the tires. As the fronts cup, the backs flatten out.
Rotate and begin the processes all over again. you should rotate every 6k to ensure maximum lifetime of your tires.

Edit: Also, You only need one thread, the whole forum will see it. I moved the posts from the other one.

Yea. they'll wear right for a while, then rotate them when the fronts start to get cupped.

No, but all tires in the front will cup, thats just what happens.
If your tires are already cupped, then i'd switch them pronto and see if they even out, They most likely will.

hmmm, ill definetly do that then, i have absolutely no problem with the noise, ive had much louder tires in my past (different vehicle) even with the cupping, and even the most worn part on the tires still isn't worn too bad, even if the whole tires were at that point, i would probably still have a year or so on em

My truck ate a bearing once and cupped my passenger tire really bad, but i put it on back for about 4k miles and it flattened out.

Also remember to check your pressure, which will get you funny tire wear as well. I just checked mine and it had gained 5 psi over, just from the difference in temp between feb and march. Course in Texas yall don't really have seasons lol.
