offset question

offset question

yes, i searched. god i feel like a noob

so.. i got the itch to make my tires look good. and damn those sidebiters look hot. so i found these

wtf is offset.. how do i know if my truck will fit

and third.. these wheels dont look like the have center holes.. what about my hubs?

Offset in lamens terms means how deep dished your wheel will look, In technical terms its the distance from the lip of the rim to the center hub if im not mistaken, but then again i have been wrong before...LOL!! Here's mine on a 3.75 offset which most just call a 4".

then why is backspacing like 3.30 and offset - 30

i know FWD cars have ..positive offset.. or something

here is a diagram showing how ALOT of backspacing and little backspacing looks







here is to show offset VS backspacing
















Backspacing works off the back of the wheel measurement and offset works off the wheel center line



whose wheels in the link will fit fine and bolt up. problem being you have a 98-99 PVH truck so the front "center caps" of the wheels will have to stay off...

awesome diagrams. my classic 2s don't look bad with the AVMs on the front instead of a center cap

so, if i want my tires to stick out i want negative offset with as little backspacing as possible?

with trucks just leave the offset out of the equation...

yes your stock backspacing is 4.5" so the less that is the more it sticks out...

those wheels are 3.something don't remember with out clicking and thus it will stick out more

Awwwwwwwwww just buy'em man! Those will fit, it's exactly what I have. You can also check JC Whitney they have them. Or Tire Discounters has them too.
