What do you think about these price quotes??
#1
Iv been looking around at some places by me. Just to see what is out there
Im shopping around for 31x10.50x15 BFG MTs
Are these prices resonable? And do I reallly need the full warranty (covers offroad damage...replaces tire if need be)
Choice 1
America's Tire Co.
$657.18 4 tires full service w/o warranty
$725.18 4 tires full service w/full warranty
Choice 2
Tire Place (forgot the name)
$642.16 ($133 per tire) 4 tires full service...dont know warranty
Choice 3
Costco
$628.00 ($144.99 per tire) 4 tires full service w/on road warranty
Choice 4
American Tire Depot (about 45min from me)
$610 4 tires full service 40,000 mile full warranty (just a side note, this guy was aggresive on the phone, made me kinda uncomfy)
Choice 5
Tucker Tire Company Inc (about 45min from me)
$612 4 tires full service w/on road warranty for life of tire
I think the Tucker Tire Company would be the best bet. Its out by Alons house, and he is gonna go with me to get me a better deal (its were he got his spare) and we were just gonna hang out for the day anyway...so why not pick up some tires while Im out there?? :D

The only thing with ordering online...warranty is only a max of 30 days...and I would have go somewhere to get them mounted = extra money.

When I get home I am gonna call all those places back and get quotes for some Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers. Someone on GE suggested Firestone Destination MTs...but I dont trust the name of "Firestone".
Firestones explode!!
Thanx for all the suggestions/comments/help/jokes

Thoughts on this headunit I might buy?
Thats why I'm glad my friends dad sales auto equipment, always a tire machine handy...
Man, I hope when I start looking for tires they are quite a bit lower... I dont wanna pop out another 600 tires, then a couple hundred more for wheels... Not used to dropping money in one spot like that.

well if you think bridgestone duellers are good, then you thnk firestone is good... it's the same company.
nothing wrong with firestone, if FORD would have inflated the tires to the correct tire pressure. I woulda bought them for my truck if they were the right price, but the kumhos were cheaper.

I just called the Tucker place and got a quote for some Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers
$483.17 for 4 ($99 each) with full warranty
$603.96 for 5 ($99 each) with full warranty
But they dont have them in stock. The guy said it would take half a day to get them tho. So I could just call them the day before.
I think I may go for these.

I drove a pair of Firestone tires into the ground on my last truck. Got ~50k miles out of a set of stock HTs. I thought that was pretty good for a set of 'stock' tires. I have to go w/ Q, Firestone ain't as bad as Ford will lead you (or your folks) to believe. I see lots of full-size work trucks 'round here w/ firestones. I figure if a guy that works construction and abuses his truck for living is gonna run w/ a set of tires, they're good enough for me.. Then again I'd probably never buy MTs.. Then again again, I'd probably never own a set of ATs if they weren't factory on my truck..

Most of the exploding firestone tires were from ONE firestone plant during a labor strike.
Did you know there were more rollovers of explorers with GOODYEAR tires?
IF you cant afford bfg's (you are paying alot for their name and popularity)
go with something like
Kumho M/t's several magazines compared favorably to bfg m/t''s
Dunlop radial rovers
Toyo M/T's (new sizes available this fall maybe not yet in your area)
I would get the firestone destination M/t's in a second. They are also excellent tires.
