PA lift is ordered, now for wheels and tires.

I just ordered my 3 inch body lift and I plan on running Super Swamper Truxus AT's but I am stuck on wheels. I have been really thinking about MT Classic 2's BUT, a lot of people around here have them so I am also considering Dick Cepeck wheels.

Does anyone have any pictures of them as I can't really tell what they look like on the mag's and I could only find one pic on here of them and it was pretty much from the front.

I also can't decide on 8" or 10" wheels. But pics of either will do. I just want to see how they look on a truck and if they are a dull aluminum look or they are polished pretty bright. Thanks.

I am assuming you are going to be running 33s so i would go with a 8 wide rim

here is a pic of the dick cepek dc1s

I would run the SS Trxus M/T's...they are WAY nicer (grip better offroad) than the STS All Terrain. I don't think you would be dissapointed by them.

For wheels, I would go with the MT Classic II or the Pro Comp 1069, either one is the same style. I love both of them.

As for the DC-1's, I like them ,but they are a PITA to mount (the screws) and I just don't like them as much on a ranger (unless on 35's and up).

Like Marks truck, they look awesome, and I actually like them on TIMAZDET's truck, but for some reason, I just don't care for them that much.

Don't forget to get some chrome lugs!!

I considered the MT's but I honestly don't do ANY hardcore off roading, not even softcore lol. I really only see off road on my way to the deer stand and back and I have never gotten stuck stock there. The STS's will last longer on the road though won't they? I would "like" to get two + years out of them since I only drive about 15k a year at the most. I will look into the MT's though.

Anyone know how loud they are on road? I have had several lifted trucks before with straight mud tires and the noise doesn't really bother me, just don't want something to howl going down the road.

Also, why an 8 inch? I am open to both but reading a lot of posts on here, 8 inch wheels wear 12.50's a bit on the crappy side and 10's seem to wear better. Once again, it's all about mileage.

As far as teh DC1, The one truck I saw them on had them on 33's and it did look a bit big to me, the style of the wheel and the size of the blades/spokes whatever you call them made them look oversized and I preferred the look of the MT to them but like I said, I have never seen a good straight on shot from the side of a DC on a ranger. Thanks so far.

That MT will last you 30k miles. Especially if you take care of them.

I have 8's, they aren't great wearing on a 12.5 wide tire. I haven't even worn my down 1/32 yet, but I can tell that it will be bad.

I would love to get 10's some day.

Then the MT may be a viable option, I saw they are only 7 bucks more each on 4wheelparts.com. Question is, why the hell do the discount codes from petersons and 4x4 not work on the website? I guess I can just call and order. Sucks it's saturday and I can't get to my bank today. I guess I could just put them on my CC and pay them off when the bill comes in.

Reason I am kinda in a rush is I am having knee surgery Nov 6th and I want to get the lift done and tires and wheels mounted before then because I am going to be out of comission a while after that. They are doing the right one and as soon as I am off the crutches, they are doing the left one. Just want to get this finished before the next two weeks or it is going to be 5 or 6 months before it's done.

well good luck w/ the lift man. The MT classic 2s/ as well as the AR bajas are a great style. I actually think i like the look of them over the spoke style, like my dc-1s. I had AR chrome burst 15x8s at first after i did my BL and they were just sick. They just looked so sweet. They are for sale right now too in the classifieds here.

the dc-1s are nice too though. I wanted a 10'' rim so i got those. It's totally up to you. oh ya, i got plenty of pics of my dc-1s on if you want some. Right now i'm running my revos w/ stock alloy wheels, looks good but much smaller tires. (Because i haven't been offroading much lately.) but way smoother on the pavement.

Tim, let me see a few side shots of the DC's if you don't mind. Thanks man.

I have wanted the Classic 2's since the 80's but I just never put a set on anything so I will probably end up with a set of them just to satisfy my need lol. But I do want to see a set of DC's before I decide for sure.

get 8 inch wide rims.....looks better IMO and dc-1's look sweet

imo, you should get a 10'' wide rim. it really fills out the tire better, and makes it a little more beefier. I've had both 8's and 10's.
hope these help!

you got a real nice, clean truck. I can't wait to see it lifted man.

slodsm 10-14-2006 02:12 PM

Thanks Tim, I appreciate it. I like the look of those DC's, the pics I saw of them before were at a crappy angle and made them look like 18's almost.

I do believe I will stick with the 10 inch rim as that is what I have always had before, I was just seeing what my options were. Thanks again.
