because it is only temporary! you can run it like that but if you wear it out then you wont have one next time you need it.......Some spares are only rated at 55mph....you should look on the sidewall of the spare tire to see........

Usually, the spare is smaller than your stock size...

Even "Full size" spares are normally smaller than th rest of your tires.

Running 1 smaller wheel tire set up can throw off a lot of things. Also if you have LS and you're running that spare on the rear rather than moving a front tire to the blown rear and putting the spare up front, you can burn out your LS.

go get a new tire you bum!

out spare is the same exact size as the other tires. I have the BFGs for stockers and the spare uses the continental tires.

I've been running mine also, i still have to get new tires (on order) after the last offroading trip.

One thing i noticed though: stock rims are aluminum, spare rim is steel. (might throw off the weight)

couple different reasons. one is heaight of the tire. think about it, two different tires, the bogger one spins at a different speed than the other when rolling. two if its a different tread design you get diferent grip on different surfaces. three weight is off. all this puts stress on the drivetrain. will it hurt your truck? maybe. i wouldnt keep it on though...

well you're probably thinking of the defintion of regular car donut tires as a temporary tire. They really dont last long at all..

Many times you can do something without any repercussions, but it isn't the smartest thing to do. Just like you could prolly do an oil change every 5 thousand instead of 3 thousand and be perfectly okay.

umm. I change my oil every 10k. Mobil 1

I have been trying to get new tires, but so far no luck. Mohter****ing tire shop 4 - 5 hours, **** that. My parents are coming down in 2 weeks, then I can drop it off and leave all day. Hopefully it will be ok, but a lot better than my stock one sitting in my bed. That sob started to seperate around the rim................sucker could have blown any day. 63k miles, it doesn't owe me a thing.
