??? pressure sensor
hey guys on a 08 ford ranger sport is has thoes stupiud air pressure sensorin the rires and does anyone know where there located on the rim
I think they are wrapped around the rim with the tire covering it.
They could be part of the valve stem itself also. Alot of the newer vehicles you have to be real careful when de-beading a tire because the sensor is part of the valve stem.
Ignore the my other post, For the rangers there is a strap around the rim thats holds the sensor on. Thats an $86 sensor from fords.
Imagine a sensor with a big hose clamp that clamps it to the rim center itself. I beleive that's how all ford's are.
Some cars have sensors built into the valvestem. you can tell these because it is metal with a nut on it. I worked on a ranger the other day and it is held on with pretty much a big hose clamp. The standard is for the tpms module to be located 180 degrees from the valve stem.
what do you need to do with the sensor? |
oh and yeah the band is secured pretty much in the middle of the rim. its a little blue box maybe 2.5x6x1 cm thick
all rangers with TPMS have band sensors
looks similar to this http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musta...ng/tpms-03.jpg |
all i gotta say is try changing a 275/24 R22 on a harley holy shlt and they didnt tell me there was a sensor let alone it was hard enough to break the back bead and then worry about a sensor from there on in, their retarded.
i broke one on a mustange the other day. well not the sensor, just the band. its hard to tell sometimes which cars have them. I like the valve stem ones much better
