Does anybody here run the procomp mts? Im thinking about buying a set and want to know how they perform in the mud, snow, and on the street. I found a set on cl and might get them.

Were they pretty good on the road in terms of noise?

i would save my money for something better i ve had mine for 15k mi and they are almost bald they are loud but tolerable at first then get louder as the tread wears and mine also seem to get out of round or flat spots on them
imo they arent a good tire and i prob wont run them again but others have had good experiences

I use them primarily for off-road. I think they do very well off-road (desert and mud) but do not know how they are in the snow. I have run them through an extreme rain downpour while going over the Rockies on I-70. I was impressed how well they did going through 1"-2" deep water without having to slow down very much while maintaining good control. I would guess this will diminish with tread wear.

Tire noise is most noticeable around town at slower speeds. On Interstates or highways at speed they seem to quite down to a reasonable noise level. I particularly don't like the vibration at very slow speeds but any very aggressive tread will do that. I have a set of Michelins that I use most of the time for daily use. The Procomp MTs go on when I plan to go off-road.

I only have about 8,500 miles on them so I don't have a good feel about how they wear but so far they show very little signs of wear. Mostly just little cuts from spinning the tires on rock.

They are loud they aren't that good in the snow and they wear faster than bfg's.

oh yea the low speed vibration is bad they make my whole truck rattle
they arent bad in snow
they clog up in the deep clay type mud
and they do alright in rain going straight no hydroplaining but no traction when cornering in rain but that also has to do with it not having weight in the bed

Don't these tires come with a 40,000 Mile Warranty from Procomp?

EDIT: Looked it up on Procomps site, the Xtreme AT tire has a 40,000 Mile Warranty with a pretty aggressive tread pattern.

Thanks guys Ive decided not to go with them because of the tire noise and vibration. I could probably find a better tire with aggressive tread that better suits my needs.

Any aggressive tire is going to have road noise. Ive had Three different types of aggressive tread and they wer all noisy. I had les shwaab mud terrain rvts on my b4000, mud terrain sxts on my ranger, and all terrain tsxs on my powerstroke. Now on my f 150 I have pro comp all terrains, theyre not noisy, and they perform great in the rain and mud, not so good in fluffy snow, but very good on packed snow and ice. Ive had them for over a year and they look brand new. except one, it was over inflated.

Sounds good, but keep an eye out for all terrains, theyre a little cheaper and just as good for everyday use.

mud terrain sxts from shwaab are good, theyre somewhat aggressive, yet still pretty quite and all around a good tire.I had them on my ranger, they went through anything i threw at them. Im partial to shwaab, a lot of people arent.

I've used pro comp mt's and I think there a good tire, I've had them on my landcruiser for the last 4-5 years and they still look good and have 75-80% tread - not sure how many miles - not a DD -

I would use them again, but if you're into rock crawling and airing down, they're not the best tire as I've heard they have relatively weak 2-ply sidewalls. I have tore a sidewall once and replaced it under warranty.

I'm in the market soon for Mt tires and I probably will not get the procomp MT's this time because I want a better sidewall. I may look at the extreme mt's though, but I'm leaning more towards some bfg Km2's
