Question

ok i just started looking around and i want to get some agressive tires and get some nice wheels with them but i want to be able to swap them out with the stock wheel/tires what would be a good idea for that i really want an aggressive tread but i don't want to get a bigger tire and don't want to mess with recalibrating the computer and everything.

i kinda like these

but i don't know what the tire size of the stock ones are and i don't know how far off that size is i get confused since the sizing is written differently

zabeard 08-01-2006 04:21 PM

stock tires are 31s

shadowrider 08-01-2006 04:21 PM

on a 2wd edge?

28.8"... get the 32x11.50s, you'll thank me later. I wish I had.

well like i said i don't want to mess with it if it is gonna throw the speedo and mileage off because i want to be able to swap back and forth between the stock tires/wheels

cant have your cake and eat it too. the only way youll be able to keep the speedo acurate with both sets is to get a programmer. Mileage will suffer with the bigger tires, only way around that really is gear swap, which will kill your mileage with the stockers on.

shadowrider 08-01-2006 04:56 PM

well by mileage i meant throwing off the odometer

got-dirty 08-01-2006 05:10 PM

if the speedo is wrong, the odo is wrong. mine is off by 2 tenths of a mile, so for every mile i travel, it only puts .8 on the odo.

like the tires. you are right on the tire size not 31s

Yea don't get a 28" tire Super Swamper.

If you want a more aggressive tire you will have to go up a lil in size and that means that your speedo will be off. A dealer can readjust your speedometer, just gotta find the one that can. But without a programmer you can't just get a bigger tire and want to swap back and forth between stock.
