backspacing question...

backspacing question...
So if I want to run 3" BL and 33x12.5x15's on my 02...
I understand that I want 3.75" backspacing on a 15x8...but will 4" backspacing work as well? I've only been able to find the cragar soft 8's with 4" backspacing.
Also, does 4" stick out further than 3.75 or is the difference in?
Thanks.

the way i understand it is the lower the number the more they stick out i have cragar v-5s in a 3.75 there is only a 1/4 inch differece from a 3.75 to a 4 so you sound be fine i think the stock back spacing is 4.5
btw i would go with a 15x10 inch wheel to run 33x12.5's need anywhere from a 8.5 to a 11 inch wide wheel some members do it but if you buying new wheels anyway might as well do it right
also what is your trucks its a 02 (model)(2wd or 4x4)(coillsprung or tbar)? if its a 2wd coilsprung you may have some rubbing with a 33x12.5

It's a edge 4x4 with tbars. I'm certain it will fit, I was just unsure of the difference between a 4 and a 3.75. I do like the look of the 10" wide wheels better with 33x12.5's but they stick out a bit far for here in PA and the chance for rubbing is increased. Not to mention the 8" will hold a bead better for off road when airing down.

either back spacing is just fine. 4" will be sucked in 1/4" into the fender compared to the 3.75".
If you go with a 10" wheel, stick to 4" backspace or even 4.25". I've got 10's and 4" with 12.50s(though I'm double lifted) and have no issues at all. MANY members run 10's and 4" and even 3.625 or 3.75 bs with a bodylift and 33x12.50's. I see you not having any issues other than the almost required for all trimming of the valence in that bottom rear corner.
