Pick your poison: 7" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (+12 offset) - meaning 2.50" outboard. (Stock) 8" wide wheel w/ 3.25" Backspacing (-32 offset) - meaning 4.75" outboard. (aka - 2.25" further "out" than stock as well as being 1.25" inward less than stock) 8" wide wheel w/ 3.75" Backspacing (-19 offset) - meaning 4.25" outboard. (aka - 1.75" further "out" than stock as well as being .75" inward less than stock) 8" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (-12 offset) - meaning 4.00" outboard. (aka - 1.50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock) 8" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (0 offset) - meaning 3.50" outboard. (aka - 1.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock) 10" wide wheel w/ 3.75" Backspacing (-44 offset) - meaning 6.25" outboard. (aka - 3.75" further "out" than stock as well as being .75" inward less than stock) 10" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (-38 offset) - meaning 6.00" outboard. (aka - 3.50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock) 10" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (-25 offset) - meaning 5.50" outboard. (aka - 3.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock) |
yeah i know the ones on the link have different bolt pattern sorry about that...i need the 5x4.5.. i was talking to the company on the phone at the time and didnt pay attention to the link i posted...but that is the style i want...i dont mind if they stick out alittle bit cause i like the a little bit bigger and deeper wheel look than stock i just dont want them to stick way out or rub any...thanks

the guy i spoke with said that they will stick outside the fenders about .5 of a inch...is that about right with 265/70 tires or are we looking at more...

EDIT: If the 8" wheel has what you say is a 4.3" backspacing - then the distance the wheel will move outward is between these two listings from my chart: 8" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (-12 offset) - meaning 4.00" outboard. (aka - 1.50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock) 8" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (0 offset) - meaning 3.50" outboard. (aka - 1.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock) Using round numbers - I would plan on the new wheel sitting 1.25" further out than where the factory wheel currently is. As far as how the tire will sit - it will be centered on the overall wheel. So, with a 265/70/16 tire the overall width is 10.40" - meaning the tire will stick out about 1.2" past the new 8" wheel at it's widest point (give or take). (Overall Tire Width - Overall Wheel Width) ÷ 2 = Tire 'Overhang' per side |
thanks a lot for your help...
