well im finally getting rid of my pro comps this month cant stand em anymore.
They are so loud since i put a year worth of miles on them. They vibrate real bad and wicked loud. I thought i had something bad in the front end but everything is tight.so i came to the conclusion it has to be the tires. So im going with 35-12.50-15 truxus m/t do you guys think im making a bad choice? no one on here has really talked about them? They say there super quiet.

They've had mixed reviews from folks I've known to use them -- but they were the first years production.

Mostly I've heard good things about them. They're a less aggressive mud terrain but definitely the real thing. Pretty smooth and quiet.

Main reports have been balancing issues -- but Interco tires have had the reputation for years.

I've seen them and I think they look great. Guys I've wheeled with that had them showed they performed well.

I think you could do a lot worse.

Think you have balancing issues with the pro comps wait till you get a set of Interco Tires....

I had Irok's on my ranger and had no problems whatsoever when it came to balancing them!

where did you find that size btw, I've never seen a irok under 36", even the radials other than yours.

Tp be honest.. if yoru looking for a quiet tire.. you need to get out of the M/T's and look for some A/T's instead ;) Just about any M/T is going to sound like a bomber flying down the highway :-)

Not so. Mickey Thompson MTZ's are scarcely louder than AT's. I've been told the same about the Interco's he's talking about, but I haven't owned them so I can't say for sure.

All MT's are louder -- but with modern tread patterns they aren't the loud mudders of the past.

I ran 31" TrXus M/T's on my FS Bronco for 3 years & loved 'em. I got 37k out of 'em which isn't bad for a soft tire. Never took the Bronco off road though since it's our family car. I bought 'em for the winter road conditions & I gotta tell ya, they worked extremely well on the slick stuff. The lugs are not like the mainstream M/T's. For traction on slick stuff, they out performed the BFG A/T's & M/T's, I used on the Bronco previously.

I had absolutley no issues with balancing them. This tire is probably the only radial that Interco makes that's actually round. These took less weight than The BFG A/T's & M/T's I ran so I don't believe the balancing statement about it being an Interco tire.

However, they are not quiet but they aren't loud. You'll hear 'em. It didn't bother me at all because I can live with tire noise unless I'm driving a Lincoln or a Cadillac. They never vibrated or wore wierd, I was very happy with them but if you don't want tire noise, don't get 'em.

Whiteo5, PM my buddy Larry (Thumper102). He used to have em, says the Truxus MT's are one of the better MT/s he's run, and he's run a few. He'll give ya an honest answer.

ok thanks guys. I want a mt i need the look of it with the double lift and i do wheel mine on the weekend then drive it to work during the weekdays. The procomps i have had them balanced twice and there fine there just a crappy tire. When i first had them they were fine for like 3000 miles and just got worse. i rotate them every 5000 miles. i dont mind a little loud tire as long as it do shake and vibrate my truck like the procomps. it feels like something is bad in the front end and checked it. everthing is fine so im most positive its the tires makin it do that

BWHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA NO... my Brother Grant had them on his level II.. NO NO NO unless you are never gonna drive on street... they do excellent on offroad conditions i mean WONDERFUL... but on the street HELL NO.. vibrate like a *****.. howl horrible.. we had atleast every tire had around 10oz of weight on 15x10 alum... one tire had 23oz... no no no no no no forget that... he also only got like 11k out of them.. they are also heavy as hell.. his where 33x12.5x15

now he has MTR's wow what a difference.. i mean they still howl but man do they balance up great

Thats funny, someone posted saying that the tires were easy to balance and that they we amazing on the street and offroad and then a few posts later someone is saying they cant be balanced and suck on the road? I think im confused....lol

Lets make it easy.. lets all switch out our tires and wheels for stock ranger rubber!!!! 225's FTW!!!

everyone has there own experience with them. my truck is my daily driver that i occasionally off road in too and i have found out the hard way to stay away from soft tires if you drive it on the road alot. granted any swamper tire will make your truck look mean but its not worth it in the end. if you want a mud terrian get one that is going to last you

My experience with those tires was a good one. I do remember that the BFG A/T's I had prior to the TrXus took more weights to balance them. I mount & balance my own tires at work, been doing it since '82. I went through a bunch of tires in all those years & there's only a few that I'll praise.

If they made the TrXus M/T with a 4 ply sidewall in the size I run on my Ranger, I'd run those instead of Iroks but a 2 ply sidewall & rock crawling while aired down doesn't have a good outcome. But for the places I've seen in pics here that most of the people (not all people) wheel, a 2 ply sidewall would probably be fine & dandy. That's why I don't run Irok Radials anymore, I had sidewall issues with the radials because they're half of what the Bias Iroks are.

I'd stear myself clear, just because of the balancing reputation they have. There are many more options for you to look at.

i dont know how you guys can say that intercos suck to balance. he's talking about a 35" radial tire here. not a 54" bogger.
they seem to be about one of the only interco tires that actually get good milage and perform well on street and trail. i've heard nothing but good things about them in the snow and they work pretty good in the rocks too.
the only bad things ive heard about them was from some guys on here that drive a 2wd stock ranger. not trying to be a dick just saying ive driven trucks with them, seen many trucks with them, talked to alot of people running them, and ive never heard a bad thing about them.

i have driven, seen and listen to my brother who owned them ***** about them.. and saw how horrible they were in the road.. and drive it with the wheel shaking like a banshee..

go head PM him G'sevo 2004 level II with a body lift and ran 33x12.5x15 on 15x10... i did say they where excellent in any offroad area.. but street they suck horrible.. maybe he got 4 bad tires from Interco doubt that....

As much as Interco tires are unique and wonderful, the bane of them has always been a very inconsistent manufacturing process. It matters much less for offroad-only tires, but reports of balancing problems have been around for years and years.

I had hoped they had worked that out, but it sounds like not if Zach's brother's experience is recent.

buddy of mine has had them on his lifted YJ (33x12.5) for 2 years now. He drives it everyday. They are an awesome tire, in both the dirt and the street. His are pretty loud but his jeep only has a soft top so its louder then a normal vehicle anyways. Never had any problems balancing. They are soft so just make sure you keep up on the rotating.

last year... he replaced them right before the silver lake sand dunes in the spring with MTR now...

you think they will be better than my pro comps? i know one of my friends runnin then and its a girl and says she loves em they done a lot of trips and miles on them and there not loud at all. They dont shake or nuttin. yea im going to hear a little howl which is fine just cant stand the shake from the ones i have now.

Anything is better then the procomps. A regular BFG MT will be better.

a friend of mine had them on his jeep and they wore out extremely fast. interco isn't known for being quiet or comfortable. If your looking for that then go with bfg m/t or similar or better yet bfg a/t. I have them on my truck and love them!

with the exception of the STS's and the Truxus MTs.. if your buying an interco tire... you PROBABLY dont give a rats ass about balance anyways lol
