tire delete mod

so, I was at a friends house, about an hour away.. and on the way home, I was doing 80-85 on the highway, about 30 minutes from home, when I went over this bridge and all of a sudden my front end started shaking like crazy.. I was like WHA?! and let off the gas. well I had a car to the right of me, being as I was in the fast lane.. I tapped the brake, and as soon as I tapped it, the tire exploded. yes, exploded. sounded like a gun shot, and scared the #[email protected]^ out of me.. well, it pulled my truck off to the median, where I was like with a brick in my pants, smoke everywhere, and the fear of getting my rear end clipped. so I pulled over as far to the side as I could, till I had an opening to shoot across the highway to change the sob. at the point of being on the median side, I was pretty much in shock, and had no idea wtf was going on.. my friend drove too, and was in front of me. with my phone battery flashing, luckily I got ahold of him and told him what happened.. so 30 minutes later, he finally finds me on the right side of the highway, just chillin seeming how my jack wouldnt work. so I waited for him to get his jack, and I went to town, because it was now 11:30, and I was super tired.. anyways, heres a picture of the damage.. oh, and thankfully, I have a new spare :D brand new wrangler gsa.

it was dark, so I didnt get any pictures at the time.

I repaired the tire with duct tape.. I think its road worthy now

heres a picture of flex with my spare on the front and yes, I realize there are weeds in the way of showing off some awesome 2wd flex hahhaa

anyways, now I have 3 different tires on my truck.. my other front tire is slight dry rotted, and might explode at any moment.. all my tires need replaced asap.. in which I'm getting 33's and soft 8's.. since the black spare makes my truck look good.. (without the rest of my explorer rims )

glad you're ok!

reminds me yesterday a guy came in with a separated tire(all the way around the center of the tread) he was wanting to just limp it home but i swapped his spare out for him real quick. this morning he comes in with the classic redneck"you're not gonna believe this SH*T!" story lol. it was sunny out(finally) today and he said he was watching tv and heard a huge BOOOOM! lol. he went out to his truck and found his wheel laying about 30 feet from the truck and rubber/cords all over his lawn. he thanked me a million times for convincing him to just put the spare on :)

Definately dont want to go cheap on that. They have a local family that is having a really tough time right now, the mother and two daughters were on the way to miss. and a tire blew out when they were exiting to I-55, truck went off the road, hit embankment, flipped several times till a pine tree stopped them. Truck landed on the 4-yr old little girls side and the mom and other daughter suffered only minor injuries. The mom is a RN so she got out and her daughter wasnt breathing and she brought her back to life and then an off duty police officer escorted them to the nearest hospital and the 4-yr old is having a really tough time, suffered several scull fracturs, liver lascerations. It's really sad. And there having to stay in MS 3 hours from home. They have an account if anyone wants to help out, www.wynk.com Search then keyword Scott. You will see the link there. Sorry for the thread jack!!
