What tire pressure do you guys run in your A/T tires? My 2004 has the 245/75/16 tires and when I got it it had about 25lbs in them and there was some unusual wear. The door sticker says 30lbs (which is in there now), but I think they could use more. On the V-8 Ranger (with 235/75/15 tires) I run 40lbs and they wear great, and on the Lightning (with 295/45/18 tires [not all season ]) I run 40lbs just fine. So what do you guys run?

 

I'm running 36-40 in my 35x12.5x15's on my Ranger. If I don't, they get all weird and cup and what not. But I'm also running wide tires on 8" rims.

I think the factory pressures are good for normal use, but a bit more is good for heavy duty use IF your tires are rated that high. I think mine are a maximum of 50 psi.

I have a 2002, and still have the independent front suspension on it. It's getting SAS'd at some point, probably after this year ends and I get the profit sharing check.

I think I have around 35p.s.i. in my tires, They are 235/75/15's(stock).

 

35-36 in my 30's...

 

I run 35 psi in my 245/75-16 BFG All Terrains, and they are wearing perfectly.

 

My Goodyear Wranglers state max pressure 44psi. My door sticker says 30psi. I run 40psi.

 

lol another person like this.. run 30 then if thats what your door sticker says. the MAX PSI is something on the tires if you keep reading on the tire it will say MAX PSI HOLDS 1,200pd(est guess) think about this thats at 44 psi holds for ONE tire at 1,200pd(est) now being our trucks weigh like 3,300pd that being sayed you have your psi to high Ford already figured it out for you the math problem and stock tires if they recommed 30psi...run 30psi...or do the math and figure it out...

i found the math problem once i for get it now. but my coopers MAX PSI was 60.. in your reasoning i would run like 50psi.. that is totally wrong you never worry about max you use it as a base to figure out your psi you should be using...

 

Like Zach said. Most of the time I would say start with the stock pressure and adjust once you start seeing how the tires are wearing.

Thanks a lot guys. I am going to try 35 in the front and 33 in the rear. They were so low when I got it that the tires were cupping.

 

Are they the goodyear Mt-r stock street looking tires? cause those tires are GARBAGE they do cup even if you have the right psi. do yourself a favor and start saving RIGHT NOW. for a new set of tires before winter serously...
