Tires

I'm not very familiar with tires and sizing. Right now I'm running the stock 245/75/16 on a 2003 ford ranger 4x4. It's time to replace them. I do not do any extreme off road or anything like that. However, I do like the look of a more harsh tread pattern, and I"d like to have a little wider tire but nothing major. I"m looking at a Road Venture AT KL78 255/70/16. I"m just wondering will that make any difference in the way the truck looks? Sorry I know this is a pretty newbie question. Thanks in advance for your help.

The tires are going to be a little bit wider and about the same height.

the first number (255) is the width of the tread in mm.
the second number (70) is the percentage of sidewall to tread.
the last number (16) is the rim size

I currently have 265/75R16 and my next tires will be 255/70R16's.

If you are looking that is a long lasting, smooth riding tire, but still has a bit of agressiveness, take a look at the Michelin LTX M/S 2's. Thats what my next set is gonna be.

Im currently running the ms2's right now and i have to say they are not very good at all. Actually there probally the worst tire ive owned. Driving in rain is like driving on ice.... Driving in the snow.... well lets not go there...

go with 265/75 16's. i have Goodyear Wrangler AT/S. (not R/T)
tires work for me and i've had them for nearly 5 years! (35,000 miles and still have over 1/2 tread left)

No issues for rubbing with me. If you want the aggressive look level out the truck and throw on some bigger tires. Mine are 285/75's and I love them. Some people don't like the Nitto Terra Grappler's. I like them and I like the look of them. Another good part about them is the price. The price of these is probably the main reason I got them over something like the BFG AT's.
