thinking about lifting and bigger tires but...my 3.0 can i handle

so i was thinking about lifting and bigger tires ,
my question is i want a little bigger tires on my truck so i can put i lift kit on it
but i dont want to stress my 3.0 what do you think is the best tired size that wont stress the motor , and will changing the gears in the rear end help? would tires kill my transmission? or will re-gearing help it ,would it kill the pick up to go big and i know theirs some people out there that have 3.0 with tires i want to hear from you too

need as much input as you can thanks

well i have the 3.0 with a 5 speed tranny and 31s on 3 inches of lift and it runs fine with 220,000 miles on it :) but yeah it also depends on what gears you have in the rear end right now im running 3.73s but i'd love to do the explorer axel swap with 4.10s maybe some time in the future lol

ive got the 3.slow with 210,000 miles on her and she still runs strong. it turns 33's fine on stock 4.10 gears. If you plan on going going bigger than a 33 then you should think about regearing if you want your power back.

im planing to do gears anyways ,did the 4.10 gears on your truck give you power back, or whats the best gear size?

i have the 8.8 rear end stock with 4.10s its a bit of a dog, but i dont drive a lifted truck to go fast. If your going to regear I'd say go with 4.56s thats what alot of people run with 33's.
