Two Different Tire, Which should I get ?
 

Michelin LTX for 546.88

CooperDisc HT for 419.90

Price included balance, stem and taxes

My is a 2wd frod ranger so which would be best for me ??

Will be using on gravel, sand, and street

michelins are expensive, but comparing them to a highway tread cooper tire is unfair. that michelin is a very solid tire and you get what you pay for.

I have the Michelin, it is simply an awesome tire. Its great in the rain, in the snow, and even on muddy roads! They balance nice and they are wisper quiet. If you go with the Michelins, you will be very happy......

Yeah it sure is expensive, do you know of other tire that might be cheaper that you recomend ? my tire i have now on the truck is 235x75R15, and if this michelins is the best I can buy then maybe i can go for that, I still have few more month before it time to change my tire before I decide what to get.

Well I know that the goodyear Fortera silent armor is junk, and so are BFG long trails. My buddy has some firestone destination LE's, and he loves them on his 2wd S-10....

Chris, even if it a 2003 2wd ford ranger it will look great too ??

The michelin since thogut might have to do lift on my truck

what size the $550 is what i got my BFG A/T 32's for seems high

well I talk to the white tire service they said it almost the same size I have on my truck now which is a 235x75R15 and will work good, so i guess more likly I will get a Michelin.

You will love them, I think they are the best thing since sliced bread! (as far as on raod truck tires go) I have had allot of sh*tty tires, so it was nice to FINALLY get a set that performed correctly!

DAMN then those are expansive as all hell...

my 255/70/16's were 719.06 out the door......

my 235 75 15 michelins were right at 600
255/50 17 fuzions were right at 550

I'd go with the michelin.

i dont have any experience with either, but i just know that michelin makes a good tire.

Thats a pretty steep price for those michelins. I have 245/75R16 General Grabber AT2's and only paid $480 mounted and balanced. Not to mention the Grabbers are a hell of alot more capable then the Michelins.

HOLY crap... my 265x75x16 BFG A/T where $700... larger and better tire...

Not a better tire. You have to look at what you are buying, these Michelins are amazing in the snow, the rain, and even on somewhat flooded muddy streets, they are famous for running 70-100,000 miles before needing to be replaced. I have a buddy that had them on a Chevy Silverado and put 110K on them before they were ready to be replaced. Even look on tirerack at all the reviews. You wanted nobby tires for looks, you never take your truck off road. I drive 30,000 plus miles a year, so I need a tire that does everything well and will last, the Toyo A/t's (had before these) that allot of people rave about were junk, these Michelins, are well worth the money.....

lol I used to offroad my truck now i drive street i will back my BFG 110% i have never owned a better tire in the snow my 2wd goes anywhere i want it to in the winter with no problems. and a/t arnt "nobby" that was my Coopers.... IMO... i had mudders a/t to me are like a street tire.. never had any problems and sold my 265 with over 50k on them with 10/32 of thread and they came new with 16/32 to me damn good wearing... dad has always owned Michelins on his F-150 man i hate driving it in the winter glad your happy tho...

Oh no need to defend your tires, I have owned LOTS of BFG A/T's and loved them, I was just saying that the Michelin LTX M/S is a great tire, better than one might think....

Michelines! My dads 150 2wd (255/70/16) has Micheline LTX M/S and they're great tires. He is on his second set. 1st set had around 50k, plenty of tread left but he decided to replace them with some fresh ones. They work great in dirt, rain, light snow, and certain types of watery mud. Here are a few pics of me wheeling his truck since you've already seen what they looks like clean.....
