I have a 1999 Ranger Sport model (basically body color grill and bumpers with a big "sport" decal on each back fender). I call it my "Home Depot" truck. It's 2wd and I just use it to run around on errands. It is Torch Red (bright red).

I am replacing the stock 15x7 "deer hoof" wheels with some of the gray 7 spoke OEM wheels (off Craigslist). I was thinking of painting them black - either semi-gloss or metallic black. Would that be too much contrast with the red? There is dark gray (graphite) wheel paint too. Or I can always leave them the stock silver gray. Any pics or thoughts? Very little chrome on this model. Most trim is black.

If I do go black, I was thinking of turning the tires white letter out to break up the black some...

Also, I am considering painting the chrome look plastic center caps, but I can do that after the wheels are finished and mounted.

If you can point me to pics that would help me, too. (I have browsed the galleries some, but not every page yet.

Do you have pics of the truck and wheels?

 

This is the wheel in chrome, but I will have the steel ones in silver (light gray). The center cap is "chrome" regardless.

The truck pics are not mine, but are similar. No graphics on mine other than "Sport" and no fender flares nor toolbox. The front valance (?) under the bumper is dark gray on mine, too. It may have been black once... lol
