What size tire?
What size tire?
I have a 2011 Ranger Sport 2WD with stock rims and 235/75/R15 tires. I'm looking to put on either 265/75R15 or 31x10.5R15 without modification (aside from adjusting the torsion bars). I would prefer the 31s. I've researched this site and have not run across any posts related to my model/year/tire question. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Same would apply to any 2001 and up 2WD with torsion bar front suspension, so 2001-2005 Edge and the 2006-2012 Sport, other 2WD models used coil springs
First your vehicle is 12 years old and so is the suspension.....................so grain of salt, we ALL sag a bit with age, lol
235/75/R15 diameter is 28.9", so 29"
You want a 31" diameter tire, so that is 1" more clearance around the tire, not 2"
Have some one turn the current 29" wheels side to side until they are at their closest point to fenders and frames, measure it, need an inch clearance or they will rub
Easy peasy, lemon squeasy
That's a static test, when you go over a bump with wheels turned, i.e. pulling into a parking lot from the street, clearances change, so keep that in mind
