Wow factory Continentals suck...

My mom has a 2002 XLT with only 20K miles on it. The Continental Contitracs or whatever on it have been rotated regularly, but they are already showing the wear bars at only 20K! That is just sad. Anyway...it's new tire time for this truck...are Dunlop Rover ATs any good? Cooper Cobras? Firestone Firehawks? It needs to be a tire with decent wear and good wet road traction that is under $100.

BFG Land Trails at Wal-Mart $63 apiece 50,000 mile tread life. Installed, balanced, lifetime roadhazard, valve stems out the door less than 3 bills. These were P235.75r/15

My parents decided on some no-name Super Sport tires at Sears. They come with a 40K mile warranty and free rotation. I think Goodyear makes them.

My Goodyear RT/S were wearing like your Cont's. By 20K I swapped them out for the Coopers I have now and I have 25K on the Coopers and they'll go quite a bit more.

My Wrangler rt's are still going pretty good at 35k, but will be upgrading to 16's sometime this month.

I know some have had them on for a long time with no problem. I don't know if some of us just drive SO hard we wear them out -- or if the tires are just that inconsistent!

The Firestone stock tires suck too. Mine only lasted 25K even being rotated and such.

I bought Sigma Supreme (Cooper Cobras with a different name). 40K mile warranty. $315 installed and everything.

the toyo open countries are great. as of yet i havnent had them break loose when i didnt want them to. they even do pretty good off road. i have around 15 or 20 thousand on them now and they barely show signs of wear (except where my alignment way way out of wack for a quite a while) i love them and if i remember right i paid around 500 for 31's mounted and balanced
