Wide Stance

I've seen some trucks that are lifted, and also of coure slammed vw's but I was wondering if I could get that wider wheel/tire combo so that not only does my ranger sit wider, but looks meaner I guess. I just think that wider look is pretty cool. Just not sure how to get that look with the wheels/tires sticking out farther than the edge of my truck a little bit. Can anyone help?

find some wider rims or with les back spacing and some wider tires.

any info of your truck to help you out on options?

i'm also guessing 2wd. you could get spacers but that means more bolts to tighten down and maintain. plus the added stress on the suspension components.
the spacers only push the rims out farther whereas a rim with less offset could give you a wider contact patch if you used a wider rim like a 15x10 as opposed to a stock 15x8.
