will these rims an tires look good?

well i was searching around i got about 1500$ to spend on wheels an tires im getting a decent priced 16x9 rim and a 33x12.50R16

the wheel i was looking at is the Moto Metal 951 BLACK
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/Mo.../PMO9516912312

thats the link to it on 4wheelparts.com

and i was looking at super swamper A/T's

the total on 4wheelparts shipped being mounted an balanced with a free tire replacement warranty that usualy costs 130$
well my total would be $1,302.70

do yall think these rims a tires will look good on a tan 2000 ford ranger 2wd with lik a 7in suspension?

With a 16in rim you're lookin more at a 305/75r16... (32.x*12.x*r16) and I would say go for them man!

315 is a 34.x.... With 7in of lift I say do a 33. I had 6in of lift on my 6" lifted 2wd and it looked awesome and really proportionate.

If you're running the 7.5in axle, 33's are gonna be your biggest if you plan on taking it offroad at all... 37's with a 8.8 if you plan on taking it offroad at all... Hope that helps...

Honestly, save yourself some money and find a 8.8 with 4.10's out of either a exploder or ranger... Expo's have LS carriers (some) and disc brakes where as if you can find a 4x4 offroad ranger rear axle or fx4 you're lookin at a LS carrier with 4.10's with drum brakes... Remember a expo axle needs the SOA conversion so that's something else to look at.

If it were me, I wouldn't drop any money into the 7.5 They're a very weak rear and if you're gonna throw 34's on it, you need something bigger. IMO

You have to take into account his axle. If he's got the 7.5 33's are the biggest as I just posted above... Since he's a 2wd he's got the 7.5 unless someone or he swapped one in.

How do you plan on getting 7in of lift anyways without a BL?

I suppose you could do 3in spindles, 3in coils, 2in coil spacer, and a 3in BL for 11in up front and that would give you enough for 315's for sure... then do a RCD shackle in the rear with a AAL or 1 3in block or so to level it out.

I had a 8.8 with 4.56 gears in my 2.5L 5spd 2wd and it hauled *** man... I beat the **** outta it too offroad... And so does the guy that owns it now... I know him and I've seen what he's taken it through and it's nothing a 7.5in axle could withstand.

oh yea i forgot about the weak link his axle would never hold up to 35s
7in lift??? never really thought about that maybe a fabtech 5in kit with coil spacers
if he does upgrade axles he should get an 8.8 out of a fx4 or a 4x4 cuz mine has an l/s carrier
explorers axle swaps are a pita

honestly, ask for your money back on gears for a 7.5... It's not worth keeping around if you plan on wheelin it at all with anything bigger than a 33... 33's with 4.10's and a 3.slow auto will do just fine man... but sell your 7.5 and buy a 8.8.... If it were me looking around, I'd just get an expo one for the 31spline axles with disc brakes... may cost a lil more, but COMPLETELY worth it in the end... IMO

fx4 axle has 31 spline as well
that is waht i would do because it is more of a direct bolt in and i do not have access to a welder

has anyone ran across any axles that are completely bolt on...? anywere cuz i guess ima jump to a 8.8 so i can run 34's or 35's bad thing is their is almost no junk yards around here ((MOBILE, ALABAMA)) we have them but none of them come around with the ford 8.8's its realy annoying cuz ive been lookin for one for forever.. i might just buy the rims an tires an not put the lift on or anything until i find a 8.8 an get it regeared clean it up then mount it

The 8.8 is completely bolt on bolt off. The only thing with the 8.8 that's not bolt on is the expo axle which needs to have the SOA conversion done to it then running brake lines for the disc brakes... the drum brake 8.8 is direct fit up with the same lug pattern.

Keep looking around man... Check your local craigslist and the junkyards periodically.

You can put the lift on man, that's not the problem, the problem is the tires. I would wait until you have all your ducks lined up in a row before you tackle it all.

That's because you brake too hard or go to fast in a truck that wasn't built for speed lol...

Just find a ranger with the offroad package and check the tag... Those rangers started in 98 and run until current, but the 02+ they started the fx4's... which is the same as the offroad package until you get to lv2's
