Wrangler DuraTrac!! anybody have these or know about them?

Looking at building up a winter wheel set for my truck. I was going to use my 16" factory wheels but I think i am getting some brushed aluminum alcoa's and selling my wheels because the alcoa's wont collect snow between the spokes like mine do. I am currently searching for some tires to price out the differences in 15" and 16" sizes and I just found what is currently my top choice. They are supposedly really good for winter and deep snow and they look pretty badass! anybody have any experience with them?? heres a link http://www.goodyear.ca/goodyeartires...ter=&sidewall=
any advice or comments are welcome!!
thanks!!

Just got a price on the DuraTrac's 4 tires mounted, balanced and taxes in.
Got prices for 15" and 16" wheels $1050 for the 31x15's and 1200 for the 265x16's. Thats in Canadian dollars as well

That seems a little expensive... I got quoted $800 (installed) for BFG AT's in 31x10.50x15.
That's Canadian $$ also.

It does, and the worst thing is that our shop does not have a fountain tire account, and they are the only place in town that has goodyears as far as i know. I get 30% off at kal tire and basically cost from another guy i know who sells tires but they can't get goodyear. Im going to have to do some shopping around and see if there is anything else comparable made by someone else. I still really want them tho, I might have to go in there myself and try to talk myself into a discount.

I called them, they dont have them in stock, would have to order them, and would cost $1038.77 installed. I should call a few more Canadian Tire stores and see what they say.

I was originally going to have a dedicated winter wheelset but when i saw these I decided to save my money and try these because they are supposedly really good snow tires as well as all seasons. MT's are bad in the snow, need something with sipes. These are the most agressive looking tires I could find in the type of tire i am looking for which is why i want them. But if i cant get them any cheaper I will get some other type of AT i think.

fountain tire is having a buy 3 get one free on silent armors next month, he said the duratechs may be on sale as well but not get one free. He quoted me for 100 less than the other fountain tire i called so $950 for 31X10.5x15's. I am also have my other tire connection who can get everything except Goodyear pricing some 32x11.5x15 KM2's for me. I should be able to get these for just over cost so I might go that route as well if they are cheap enough but they are not as good in the snow and ice which is crucial this far north in the winter which is why I am still leaning duratrac. Damn decisions!!

saw those at our walmart last night, 130 each(dont think that was mounted price) for 31s, the tread looks okay, like a decent mild off road and good daily driven tire

have you looked at the wrangler silent armours? ive been running them for a while now and they were great back last winter in snow and ice. and are very quiet and smooth on normal road conditions

^^I did look at those as well! i have been looking at many tires but i think i am going for the duratrac's. I was talking to the guy at fountain tire and he said they may be going on sale mid sept. so I am going to hold out until then. I like the look of the duratracs more than the silent armours and they look like they would be a bit better offroad. But i appreciate the suggestion!

thats way over priced. You should have bought my bfg AT's with only 10,000kms of use for $650 a month ago.

You can get a much better tire for $1050cdn

Blizzack DMZ3's and a host of other real snow tires are around $180 a tire plus installation almost anywhere in canada

^^ well thats probably $900 CDN plus they cost more here once they get across the border. Prices and labour rates in edmonton are ridiculous everywhere, downside of a huge (but slow in the past year) oil indurstry.
