3" body lift install
3" body lift install
Thinking about doing a 3" bl on my 2004 xlt 4x4. My question is will it be a straightforward install or will i need to be extending linkage? A mechanic i talked to told me i didn't need to mess with the engine compartment at all just loosen the body bolts and do one side at a time and then fix the bumpers. Any feedback is appreciated.
You need to lengthen the steering shaft or whatever... and the radiator has drop brackets also. As well as the bumper brackets to make the bumpers line up with the rest of the body and fuel filler neck extension.... it should all be included in the kit if you buy it new.
There is quite a bit of information about body lifts on here.... should answer your questions.

Yea i figured. Looking at the instructions it wants you to remove a lot from the engine (brake lines, ABS, fuel injection, etc.) i'm just trying to find out if all that is necessary or if i can just get away with taking out the radiator and fan shroud.
