Gap guards for 2006 XLT extended cap

I've read that it's cheaper to just go to Home Depot, buy some material and cut it but I'm willing to spend the money. Will these work?

Performance Accessories 6737 - Performance Accessories Gap Guard Kits - Application - SummitRacing.com

If not; which ones will work?

you can actually get more coverage with how ever more creative you get i know guys that have made complete inner gaurds with this stuff.

Go to homedepot and get some stair runner material gonna cost you like $20 max..

the stuff i got was to wide so i sliced it inhalf and put it on.. using self tapping sheet screws into the pinch weld seam.. just dont put a screw in a spot weld..

use the BACK SIDE of the rubber the not ribbed side...

this is what the side you wanna hide looks like

you dont need anything on the front the stockers take care of it...

here my truck from the side they work great

Zach - I've read the BL tech and came across those pics before and for a while now I've been debating the DIY gap guards but I'm just going to purchase some. Thx.
